About Me

I have been fortunate to dedicate my career to supporting families of young children impacted by autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Welcome!

My name is Sam and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I began my career in 2008 with the Autism Society of North Carolina. After completing my Master of Social Work, I began working with parents of toddlers with ASD in their homes, providing parent coaching through the Family Implemented TEACCH for Toddlers program. I then worked with UNC TEACCH Autism Program for nearly 10 years as an autism specialist, trainer, and Director of TEACCH for Toddler services. I have trained parents and professionals in naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions around the world. I feel strongly that caregivers are THE key to a child’s well-being and development and I will work to provide you with education, support, and resources to reach your goals for your young child.

I am highly qualified in autism and early childhood and intentionally only serve young children and families. I am certified in Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and Structured Teaching. I have unique experience in early intervention with infants and a strong interest in supporting infant siblings of children with autism, as well as children with other rare neurogenetic conditions, including Fragile X and Angelman Syndrome.

During my free time I enjoy all things outdoors! I love hiking, picnics, and exploring our yard with my toddler. As a parent myself, I understand how busy and sometimes overwhelming life can be. It is my goal to meet you and your child where you are, and find what interventions work best to fit into your typical day to day routines.

I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know your family!
